“Romeo and Juliet”Final Essay, The Relationship of Juliet And Her Nurse The relationship between Juliet and her Nurse portrayed in Romeo and Juliet has a different perspective from the classic young love genre. The Nurse is portrayed as loving as a parent,during her hardest times the Nurse gave motherly support and provided comfort from her confusion. Her Nurse appeared more in her time of trouble than her beloved Romeo and Lady Capulet. “Thou wast the prettiest babe that e’er I nursed. An I might live to see thee married once,I have my wish.”-[Act1Scene3] This shows she cares about Juliet very much and is proud to have cared for her. When Juliet fakes her death her Nurse is more shocked than her mother, “O me, O me!My child,my only life,Revive,look up,or I will die with thee!-[Act4Scene5] While Lady Capulet is too horrified to say anything, even after they bury her she never says a thing. The Nurse kept Juliet stable and happy making most of her good decisions and keeping her safe and accompanied, this isn't necessarily Lady Capulet's fault because back then the mother wasn't allowed to bond over their child but this does not change the fact that Lady Capulet can act quite selfish and is indifferent towards her keeping their relationship as people they just met and not something you would have with someone you've know your entire life, I guess just not having a relationship similar to her
