Compare And Contrast A Trip To Dubuque

I am from a small town only about an hour from Dubuque, called Davenport. I like to think that both these places are very similar in many ways, but of course they have differences too. The atmosphere of people as well as the demographics are similar: both towns are right on the Mississippi river, and the downtown areas remind me of each other very much. Davenport has access to only Illinois from the border of the state but is also twice the size of Dubuque regarding population, while Dubuque has access to Wisconsin and Illinois right across the border. Coming to Dubuque I knew that I would be exposed to many new things in my life without even moving too far out of my daily activities and hobbies. When I first came to Dubuque I had passed through the area and been around it a bit before because I have family that lives near here, but other than that it was a whole new area to me. Coming on visits here to the college I got to explore a little bit other than just the campus and even got to see the downtown area for a while but it was not until I moved in on August 24th when I really got to dive into this area and all my new surroundings. There were so many trails to pick from, ranging of all different sceneries, lengths, and landscapes. The trail I ended up choosing was about 3.5 miles long and was called the Eagle Scout Trail, which I learned it got its name from the Boy Scout troops that built it when they were earning their Eagle Scout awards.
