Final . The author, Seth Holmes, a physician-anthropologist, writes in the tradition of Agee, Murrow, and Steinbeck in exposing the social injustices that are a part of agriculture, sympathetically casting a human face on backbreaking work, and speaking truth to power. Seth Holmes ' ethnography study Fresh Fruit Broken Bodies is an analysis on the different problems going on with migrant workers in the United States the problems they face in their pursuit of survival, structural forces that impel migration and put individuals, families, and entire communities at a disadvantage of one kind or another. Mexico and Cuba underwent major revolutions led by rebels who opposed their current presidents. The revolutionaries in both countries were mainly concerned with the industrialization and modernization that was occurring within their countries. The uprisings resulted in the countries shared beliefs against foreign imperialism, against elites having so much control on their counties and push for land reforms. In the long run Mexico faired better after their revolution than Cuba. Cuba still experiences hostile tensions with the U.S. today and still practices rationing.
Contrast between Chile and USA During my whole life I’ve been back and forth, living between Chile and USA. I’ve lived in both countries for almost the same amount of years each. I think if I hadn’t lived here when I was smaller, I would feel a big cultural shock. Geographically Chile is very extensive and in length, we have a great variety of climates and landforms. We can take the bus from the middle of a region and in 1hour be either at the mountains full of snow or at the sea.
The Americas under the English and the Spanish The Americas in the mid 17th and 18th century was a hot ground for colonization potentially due to unexplored land. Colonists from all parts of the world wanted to get a taste of what it would be like to be on the American continent. Although different colonists had different motivations for creating a stronghold in America, the two most important powers come to mind: The Spanish and the English. They both had different motivations for colonizing the American continent.
Mexico vs America The american-mexican war was justified to América and american citizens in all viewpoints. If they like it or not mexicans fired on us while setting up a camp for preparations on defending an attack we feared in texas which was threatened to us many times by mexico ,never fully accepting texas's disunión to the country, who at that time wounded or killed 16 americans due to the hostile mexicans. Clearly mexicans cannot be trusted, not even with there own land we have told them time and time again that they don't have a real way of government anyway that we would happily take some of their land. Instead they were angered and denied any further communication with us.
They enjoy family gatherings, food, dancing, quinceañera and just like in my culture they greet you with a hug and kiss on the cheek. Now when it comes down to food there some slight differences in that aspect. For example eating tamales is a must, technically we can eat tamales all year long; on December 24th tamales is the main course at our table. In Puerto Rico the traditional food eaten on December 24th is lechon asado (roasted pork). Puerto Ricans just like in my culture value family, friends and enjoy hosting dinners to get everyone
Cuba and Mexico share more than just language and existing in what some call Latin America, they are brothers that were raised by the same family, but after coming of age and leaving home they went in very different directions. Cuba and Mexico both experienced the extended struggle to become independent nations and each was forced into a bloody revolution by a different set of circumstances. It is clear that Mexico experienced more change and is to be considered more

Here our traditional foods are foods like hamburgers, corn on the cob, baked beans, potato salad, cornbread, deviled eggs, meatloaf, sloppy joes, hot dogs, apple pie, and chocolate chip cookies. We celebrate holidays such as presidents day, Memorial day, independence day (fourth of july), labor day, christmas, etc. On the bigger holidays like the fourth of july, you will usually see a bunch of people gathering for a party. Most of the time when you go to someone's party, you bring a dish of food. Once everyone brings some food, there is like a buffet for everyone to eat at.
I remember my home country El Salvador as being colorful invaded by exotic trees and fruits. I also remember the unique tastes found in the food.
