Bulimia Nervosa Vs. Anorexia Nervosa Anorexia and bulimia, two horrible eating disorders that are dangerously alike yet totally different. Many people don’t know the difference between anorexia and bulimia and some think they are one in the same others think that people are born with it. However they are not and you cannot be born with either one. One of the eating disorders restricts eating; the other consumes masses of calories in one sitting. Anorexia Nervosa restricts one from eating resulting in self-starvation and weight loss of fifteen percent or more of ideal body weight. Because of the fear of gaining weight, over exercising is a common symptom. Changes in brain chemistry, becoming anemic, and having a slowed heart rate are all symptoms of this disease.
Celebrities who are pressured in to being thin have used anorexia as a weight loss regime or weight control method without understanding it’s consequences. Angelina Jolie has battled anorexia for years, but now she is getting help and support from her husband Brad Pitt.
