April from Don't Look Behind You! and Steve Harmon from Monster both seem afraid to the reader they differ because April is brave and Steve Harmon is guilty.In both stories, the reader can see how terrified the characters are. April differs from Steve because April is brave. April makes many brave actions thought the book Don't Look Behind You! Steve differs from April because he shows himself being guilty. Characterization plays an important role in character development. The reader of both Monster and Don't Look Behind You! Find April and Steve to be Afraid. In the book Monster, it stated “Walking down the street, trying to make his mind a blank screen”. This shows he was afraid he was trying to forget he participated in the crime and was afraid of being caught. In the same book, it says He emphasizes that he is a “good person but he can still be a good person and still do a bad thing”. In the book, April told her parents she was going to friends for the weekend and instead took her money from the furniture and when to the airport and flew back home. This is a brave thing to do because they are so many things that could've when wrong. Also, leave her parents and going by herself. In the same book it states “ There a vent in here maybe I can fit through it” she tried escaping knowing vamp was a few feet away.
