A Contrast of Christianity’s and Islam’s views of Jesus
In the book of Islam Jesus is present but his title is of a prophet (Surah 2:87). In the Bible Jesus is the only Messiah. Muslims interpret the Qur’an, with no room for dialogue as to his death and resurrection” (Larson). "Jesus is always spoken of in the Qur'an with reverence; there is no breath of criticism, for he is the Christ of God (Larson). Christians often don’t treat Muslims with the same respect. Isa is the proper name for Jesus in the Qur‘an. In Muslim thinking, he is not God, and not the Son of God. Jesus is no more than the slave or the servant of God and he himself worshiped God. While there are radical sides of each religion, Islam’s recent history with violence to America and to the world has made me doubt its legitimacy as a religion. I personally believe that Islam is a fascist ideology masquerading as a religion.
