STATES Federalists believed liberty was more secure in large republics, where government was more distant from the passions of the people and factions were larger yet weaker as a whole. They believed a bill of rights was unnecessary or even dangerous (could be construed as a finite list of rights).
Furthermore, I will explain the difference and comparisons between these two political parties based on perspectives. A major topic of conflict between the Democratic and Republican Party is taxes. The new government formed into two political parties with two very different opinions of how the new country should be run, (Shultz, n.d.). Although they had come together in the past, both felt they were the superior of the two and that their ideals would lead the new nation successfully in the future. The two political parties were identified as the Democratic-Republicans and the Federalists.
The political ideologies found in both the Texas Republican Party and Texas Democratic Party mirror those found on the national level. In summation, the Republican Party of Texas focuses on increasing economic freedoms while limiting those of a personal nature, while the Texas Democratic Party has a platform based on limiting economic freedom and increasing personal freedom. Because of this, both parties come to differing conclusions as to the role government should play in society. This divide emanates from the perceived origin of such laws, and the role man has to play in interpreting and shaping them.
Republicans and Democrats have very different ideas where it comes to the business environment. Republicans tend to oppose increasing minimum wage where businesses keep costs low so they can prosper and all Americans can have access to services and products. The Democrats favor increasing the minimum wage where Americans have more money to purchase goods and also paid trade restrictions to protect jobs. The Republicans tend to be conservative on social issues. The Republican Party opposes gay marriage and promotes marriage being between a man and a woman. They are pro-life on abortion and promote the right of gun ownership. Republican’s favor personal responsibility and that individuals should be able to choose for themselves what they do and what they do not do if it doesn’t break existing laws. The Republicans opposed President Obama’s executive order that put an embargo on importing certain undocumented immigrants.
Obviously, when a country has a multiple political party system for governing, there will be vast differences in political opinion and policy. The two major political parties in the United States are different in many aspects of their beliefs and underlying platforms. Most people think of the Democratic Party as being more liberal, whereas the Republican Party is seen as more conservative in their values and policies. This is not always the case and furthermore they do not always disagree. However, there are some differences which I feel the Republicans should adopt in order to gain more followers.
Both the Democrats and the Republicans like to think of themselves as the true heirs of Thomas Jefferson. The modern Democrats are historically descended from the Democratic-Republican Party that Jefferson himself organized to thwart the ambitions of Alexander Hamilton (although, ironically, they were known as "Republicans" in Jefferson 's time). Democrats around the country annually celebrate Jefferson-Jackson Dinners, avowedly declaring a connection between Jefferson and the modern Democratic Party. But Republicans claim that their platform of small government and low taxes is more in line with true Jeffersonian philosophy than that of the big-government Democrats.
There are two main principles when it comes to fiscal policy. One is known as demand-side economics and the other is known as supply-side economics. Demand-side economics comes from John Maynard Keynes, an English economist, he suggested that if the government provided enough work for everyone, it would cause economic growth. This idea was first implemented in Roosevelt’s New Deal through many of the public work programs, and in times of economic crisis the democrats commonly go to demand-side economics in order to get America out of an economic slump. In contrast to demand-side economics, the republicans often refer to the idea of supply-side economics which was developed by the economist Arthur Laffer.
Republican or Democrat. Both of these parties have pros and cons. Most people consider themselves one or the other. When in reality most people are 50 50 on who they agree with more. I believe both parties have good ideas although the democrats win over the republicans in the points I have picked.
While democrats encourage increase in tax pay to support these government paid social programs to help people in need. These government programs help us all in myriad ways every day, that most government programs are working effectively to solve our social problems, and that government is the only way to promote important values like justice and economic security. Which is the reason why I support the democrats vision . They care about the lower-class society and they are continuously in their agenda. If taxes were to be decreased and the government wouldn’t be as supportive to those who participate in these programs there will be a lot of people in the streets living in poverty.
The GOP support Second Amendment rights, the right to bear arms, to ensure that everyone has the ability to defend themselves not only from criminals, but also from enemies trying to attack. Abortion is not viewed favorably by most Republicans and neither is stem-cell research. The Republicans are also mainly against LGBT marriage rights but not just because they do not agree with the idea, but because they believe the decision should be left to the states. The Democrats are the complete opposite. Democrats try to limit the Second Amendment as much as possible.
They claim their economy is built to lift up all Americans, not just aid those at the top. The Democratic Party puts great emphasis on job creation, equal pay, education, health care, and clean energy. They believe on strict regulations on the
I believe that there is a difference between the Democratic and Republican parties, on the grounds that they both differ policy attitudes. Individuals who claim to be Democratic turn out to be more liberal when it comes to policy questions, such as, supporting federal expending on day care and the such, as opposed to those who claim to be Republicans. The representatives to the Democratic and Republican presidential proposition conventions most of the time have contradicting views on questions regarding to crime, welfare, military, and the such.
Land, Culture, and Identity are all interconnected in my opinion. A lot of people’s identity comes from the place they’re from and within that place, those communities build their own culture. Being from Philly, I can fully understand how they’re connected. In our city, when the weather gets nice everyone brings out their dirt bikes and go get water ice. Water Ice is so unique to Philly and it’s part of our culture and you can’t find it elsewhere.
