Hunger Games vs. Divergent Many people say that the Hunger games book series, and the Divergent book series are “the same”. In many ways The Hunger Games series and the Divergent series are alike, but there are also many ways that the series are different from one another. They both have similarities in the fact that they both take place in similar settings, and both have female protagonists that tell the story, and the protagonists also have love interests. Hunger Games and Divergent also have some major differences. In both series the way societies are set up, and the government is portrayed, and the conflicts of both protagonists are very different. Both series are alike in a lot of ways but there are minor characteristics and plot elements that make them different, and interesting in their own way. Both the Hunger Games and Divergent take place in dystopian societies. Both societies are described as very futuristic, but it is also a place where the people live in fear and are oppressed. In Divergent the female protagonist is Beatrice Prior also known as Tris, and in Hunger games the female protagonist is Katniss Everdeen. Both girls are very young girls, but are also courageous and rebellious. In both books they both had a sense of curiosity about everything. They both experience very harsh and oppressive governments. What makes them different is they both come from different groups. Katniss is from the poor district of district 12, and Tris comes from the faction abnegation where her father is leader in the faction. Both girls also play a huge part in the leadership and the destiny of their society. They both have similarities, but they also have some major
