There are many different opinions and stereotypes people have about gamers, some being negative, but everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and opinions. There are some people who believe that video games cause violent behavior. But, over the years there’s been multiple research studies conducted over the topic of video game violence and it being linked to real world violence and the studies have shown that there is very little evidence linking the two. However, I’m going to provide further information that debunks videogames being linked to violence.

Although there are many problems where playing video games may lead to some forms of different behavior. Examples being, the article below “Haagsma, Maria, et al. In the article listed, the main reason for the experiment was to see long term effects, behavioral effects of video games on people. What they did was gather participants from the age range of 17 to 28 years of age, some of them were educated, and some had an occupation such as a job. As it says in the article, “most participants reported playing video games from a few hours up to 66 hours per week.” While on the other hand “their past playing time was from 10 hours up to 105 hours a week.” Now that much playtime you’d expect the participants to have some effect.
