In this report, I am comparing Stem Cell Therapy and Chemotherapy to determine which medical technology will be more beneficial with additional funding. From the above research, I have decided it would be logical to fund Chemotherapy, as Cancer and Stem Cell Therapy both require Chemotherapy.

Stem Cell Therapy is the procedure used to replace a body full of unhealthy stem cells with healthy stem cells. The new, healthy stem cells are then transformed into different types of cells such as brain cells, blood cells etc. to help the bodily functions remain on going.

Chemotherapy is the use of chemicals to eliminate or even just neutralize cancer cells in the body by stopping the cells from growing or dividing and multiplying throughout the …show more content…

However, when Chemotherapy is used for Stem Cell Therapy, it is used to kill of the existing, contaminated bone marrow, to ensure when the new bone marrow cells are introduced, the infection from the previous bone marrow doesn’t contaminate the new cells.

Length of Treatment
The length of treatment is different for each any every medical condition. Treatment time depends on many factors, varying from the disease, the condition of the patient, the age, the actual treatment itself and so on. When talking about Stem Cell Therapy, it takes several days for the Chemotherapy process and two to four weeks for the actual replacement of cells. Whereas, Chemotherapy mainly depends on what type of cancer the patient has and the stage at which the cancer is. Chemotherapy for cancer can take many, many months of on and off treatment.

Side Effects
The side effects for any treatment can be quite severe, and sometimes even worse than the disease or condition itself. The side effects for Stem Cell Therapy and Chemotherapy are quite similar, but differ in some ways. Stem Cell Therapy can introduce a completely no Virus to the body if the treatment doesn’t work accordingly. Chemotherapy on the other hand has similar side effects as to what the other side effects of what Stem Cell Therapy
