Holocaust Children Vs. Syrian Children On January 30, 1933 the Nazi’s came to power. All Jews were seen as a target, even the innocent children. In the year of 2011 the Syrian war had began, and is still taking place at this time. Both of these devastating events have changed our world, and the children involved. Overall the children of the Holocaust have faced more deadly and cruel times. From the beginning of the Holocaust till the end over 1.5 million children were killed. Since the Syrian war has began ( 6 years ago) only 24,000 children have been killed. The death toll from the Holocaust is much greater than Syria’s. Both of these groups of children do face one of the worst times in history, and battled or are still battling them. The health of the Syrian children and the Holocaust children are the same in certain ways. Around 70% of Syrian children are either searching or don't have any clean water at all. About ⅓ of the Syrian children go without food because none is available. While during the Holocaust times they would have to ration food. They would be given a very small portion, and were very lucky if they even got any food. The Jew’s food was like slop. It was gross, and had very small amounts of nutrients in them. Water for the Jewish children was low, and had a very slim chance of getting the right amount they needed. Food and water for both groups of children was and is scarce. The Jewish children did not have good sleeping areas either. They would sleep on bricks, and usually with seven others in a small bunk. If they were even lucky to make it that far. Syrian children do not have good sleeping areas either, but they do have some sort of clothing on them. Most children of the Holocaust were stripped naked like animals.
