In the novel Prisoner B-3087 by Alan Grantz the nazis shows prejudice by targeting young jews during the holocaust. On page 41 it states, “I must reach out my arms and beg: Mothers and fathers, give me your children!” them wanting children was only for their personal benefit, work, and they believed that jews of any kind would just make more “impure” kids, kids with mental, physical, or even biologically related reasons were a cause for which they targeted them. Another piece of evidence is on page 8, it says, “Then one morning, I walked to school, and it was canceled. For good I was told.
Not all the teens during the Holocaust were being oppressed some of them were the oppressors. That still doesn’t mean that their lives couldn’t also changed drastically due to the prejudice. For example, the story of Herbert Norkus. He believed that what he was doing was for the better, and that led to his brutal death.
More than 7 million children and adults died during the holocaust. There are 3 main things the children, the camps, and the survivors. There were 2 survivors, Philip Riteman and Jeanine Burk, that survived all the terrible things. Also, the children had to go through the camps and many were killed, there were about the 23 main and 900 camps. Many people were put in killing centers and others were starved.
The holocaust for a child “There were gasps and moans, rattling coughs, and short piercing cries. And the ever present stench of unwashed body’s, disease and death.” (Lazan 1). said Marion Blumenthal Lazan, a holocaust victim. This experience and many others like this happened during a time period called the Holocaust.
The three acts of dehumanization that were committed were that they were forced out of their towns, separated from their families, and forced to walk miles and miles in freezing cold weather. It amazes me how a fifteen year old boy was able to survive all of these terrible things that have happened to him and many others during the Holocaust. We should learn from these terrible things to make sure that it never happens
The Nazis killed millions of innocent children only because they were Jews. Additionally, The SS hanged a young boy, a pipel, because he and other men sabotaged a factory machine, “But the third rope was still moving: the child, too light, was still breathing… And so remained for more than half an hour, lingering between life and death, writhing before our eyes. And we were forced to look at him at close range. He was still alive when I passed him.
These people, these children never did anything wrong, but they never did anything extraordinary either. They just had no skills to offer so the Germans did not think that they needed to live life, a decent human life. It is just that the Jews were not seen as humans so ending their lives was an easy task. At one point the book even mentions children being dumped from train cars into the flames, almost like a bad supply of food or some product. These prisoners were killed in a ravage way in front of so many other people, and a human should never have to go through that which is one way dehumanization was
During the holocaust, The Nazis used a form of treatment towards the Jews to make them feel less and less human it was called dehumanization. This means to deprive someone of their human like qualities and merely make them feel like a “thing” that gets in peoples way. They used this method to make it seem like the Nazis were doing them a favor, they were killing the jews to “purify” germany in their eyes. To begin, some inmates at the concentration camps (mostly the newer ones) were usually told that if they were fifteen, “No. you're eighteen” (Wiesel 133).
He shared the story of his experience and the stories of others who had and had not survived the terrible time. The inhumanity that children experienced was appalling and makes most sick when considering that humans could do that to another human being. During the Holocaust, children were very vulnerable to death and disease. Around 1.5 million child deaths were estimated
Unspoken Victims of The Holocaust Of the countless victims of Adolf Hitler’s brutal genocide none were persecuted more than the Jews, however, among the large death toll many others were mercilessly punished for their race, beliefs, or occupation. A major target for Hitler’s “Final Solution” was the mentally and physically disabled. In their article on the mentally and physically handicapped the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum wrote “The Law for the Prevention of Progeny with Hereditary Diseases, proclaimed July 14, 1933, forced the sterilization of all persons who suffered from diseases considered hereditary, such as mental illness (schizophrenia and manic depression), retardation (congenital feeble-mindedness), physical deformity,
How were women and children treated during the Holocaust? Women and children who were Jewish during the Holocaust were treated very poorly. Jewish women and children were treated horribly during the holocaust mainly because of concentration camps. Women were frequently subjected to a brutal persecution that was sometimes unique to their gender. The Nazi’s also targeted Gypsy women, Polish women, and women with disabilities living institutions.
In fact it was estimated that as many as 1.5 million children were murdered in the holocaust. Jewish people were not the only religion that the pain and suffering was directed at. Many gypsy families and people with handicapped abilities were put in concentration camps, some did not even make it as far as the concentration camps. Studying the Holocaust was a great but sad experience because I learned of all the horrible things that happened people, The thing the struck me the most was learning about how the children did not get any better treatment. Boys and girls my age were living a nightmare.
Lilliann Hays Ms. Rushfeldt English, Block C February 26, 2024 Violent Concentration Camps in Germany I can’t believe that concentration camps were actually a thing. Just the thought of it gives me nightmares. All of the gruesome torture that happened in these concentration camps was absolutely horrible! These people had to go through such cruel treatment just because they didn’t worship the right God, and that is just terrible. In Germany during World War II many of the Jewish people died or survived while trying to escape imprisonment for worshiping another God.
Babies were thrown in the air and shot, used as target practice by Nazis. It seems unimaginable but this is exactly what the Nazis did during the Holocaust. Millions of people were murdered in the Holocaust due to Adolf Hitler’s dictatorship over Germany. The holocaust killed anyone whom Hitler considered his enemy, especially Jewish people. Around 50,000 people who were sent to these concentration camps survived and were liberated.
Did you know that Pavel Friedman, the author of the book The Butterfly wrote “A total of around 15,000 children under the age of fifteen passed through [the concentration camp] Terezin. Of these, around 100 came back”. This is a completely, absolutely horrid statistic, and yet it is true. Speculate about being a child back in Nazi Germany. Not all of these kids were Jews.
