Have you ever wondered about Finland’s government, or America’s? Finnish military, government setup, power, and basic rights are almost completely similar. In my opinion I prefer American government more than Finnish.
Finland’s military is pretty similar to American military, but some things are different. Finland’s military consists of the Finnish Army, Finnish Navy, and Finnish Air Force, whereas America’s is made up of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Finland’s military is ranked 55th largest in the world and America’s is ranked 2nd in size. In America you have to be 17 to join any branch of the military, with parental consent, and 18 to join without parental consent. In Finland to need to be 18 to join at all. Finland’s government is set up almost entirely the same to America’s. Finland and America both have 3 branches of government, which are legislature, executive, and judicial. America and Finland were once ruled by other countries. America gained independence on July 4th, 1776 from British rule. Finland gained independence on December 6th, 1917 from Russian rule. The long name for “Finland” is the Republic of Finland, but the shorter- more used name is Finland. Finland’s powerful official is a prime minister. America’s is a president. The prime minister is responsible for the entire country and they make around €11,675 per month, which is around $12,386. The president has the same responsibility but makes a little bit more, $400,000 per year, which is around €377,020. Finland’s current prime minister is Juha Sipilä. America’s current president is Donald Trump. The president and the prime minister both can run for 4 years, but the president can be re-elected for another 4 years. The capital of Finland is Helsinki and the capital of America is Washington
