Clay was born in Virginia, but started his political career in Kentucky. He believed in compromise and consensus. Opposite to Andrew Jackson, Henry Clay believed democracy would destroy personal wealth. This novel is a great resource for people trying to learn more about the stances and ideals of Andrew Jackson and Henry Clay. Andrew Jackson was a great military leader, who was believed to be able to lead America as well as he led his men.
The Jacksonians believed that everyone The differences in beliefs of the two groups were there only because of the different times they existed. The Populist belief on presidential power was that the president should only be in office for one term and no more. While the Jacksonian Democrats did not see more than two terms in office, they saw Jackson expand the power of the president. President Jackson believed that the president should be a forceful and powerful position in the wake of the weak presidency of John Quincy
Thomas Jefferson during the 1790’s-1800’s while working with federalists Alexander Hamilton, his viewpoints were different. During the 1790’s Jefferson was known to be in the democratic-republican party where he progresses an ideal structure of equivalencies between money and weight standards with the American/Spanish currency. Jefferson took charge of the republicans after a conflict created two parties, republican-democratic and the federalist, who empathized with the revolutionary cause in France. While attacking the federalist policies, Jefferson opposed a strong centralized government and granted the rights of states. While Jefferson was in presidency, he cut down on the Army and Navy expenditures, cut the U.S. budget, eliminated the tax
When comparing Sam Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams, we can see that there are some similarities and differences between the men. Perhaps the most notable relation this group has, is that they were all formal presidents and had some type of power or ownership. The qualities of all four men are often seen as opposed to each other. One similarity for example, with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson was that they were prosperous Virginian plantation owners and held slaves. Jefferson and Adams were both well educated people and knew about the law.
discriminatory trade practices. Furthermore, under Jefferson’s wing, James Madison endeavored to push Navigation Laws aimed at opposing British trade in the House of Representatives. Jefferson had also grown wary of Hamilton’s pervading influence: the Senate was automatically friendly to his policies, he controlled the patronage of the Treasury Department, and he boasted a growing number of newspapers: The Pennsylvania Packet, The Charleston Evening Gazette, the Providence Gazette, and the Gazette of the US. To counter Hamilton’s influence, Jefferson spurned the creation of the National Gazette, which broadcasted the views of the Democratic-Republican party to the common people who he hoped to empower. Jefferson proceeded to rally subscriptions
He needed these leaders of society to support the new federal government. He thought that if the federal government assumed the debt from the states, that all of the creditors would feel that they had a direct financial stake in the survival of the new federal government. His plan was met with opposition from southerners. They blocked the assumption bill in Congress, and it appears to have no chance of passing.
When the year of 1807 came around, the way that America elected a president changed. In previous elections, only the rich men were able to vote which as a result whoever promised more the wealth was elected for president. When the common man was able to vote in 1807, the type of candidate to win the election change. As seen in the election of 1828 the person who was more relatable to the people, won because the common man was able to vote and so they used that opportunity and elected whoever they thought was going to help them. Overall the people preferred Jackson over Adams because Jackson was able to relate to the people better, and because he was a symbol of the American dream.
George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were great presidents but i believe that Abraham Lincoln was far better. He abolished slavery and held the country together during one of it's hardest times and doing all this with the pressure of an entire country relying on him. But it would have been better if he wasn't killed during his term I beleive that if he wouldn't have died America would be doing a lot better then it is now Lincoln would have been an amazing president if he didn't die he probably would have served another term or two. Even though everyone loved George Washington, Lincoln was also very popular among the people he also had the potential to make America a way better place.

Abraham Lincoln and Harriet Tubman were two passionate people who used their platforms to fight against the injustice of slavery. Abraham Lincoln and Harriet Tubman have the special skill of being inspiring orators in common. They are also similar because both of them were radical abolitionists meaning they both actively participated in the fight against slavery and let others know that they were protesting the injustice. Harriet Tubman’s early life can be compared to that of Abraham Lincoln because they both grew up very poor and didn’t have the advantage of having money. However, Abraham Lincoln and Harriet Tubman are different because Tubman was born into a life of slavery whereas Lincoln’s childhood family owned several slaves.
Thomas Jefferson and Slavery If I were to grade Thomas Jefferson based upon his words and actions regarding slavery I would give him an D.Because of fought against slavery, had slaves, and help cultivate crops. Why would a person have slaves then fight against it. He was maybe trying to show how there lives are or just to show an example of the everyday life of a African American slave.
Both Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson like many of the founding fathers of America share a ideology concerning independence and freedom in general. Although the two were notably talented writers, the difference in their arguments was their respective deliveries, writing styles, and their timing. Personally, I agree more with the way Thomas Paine chose to present his point of view. Common sense, for example, was a significant eye-opener for many Americans. One of the only reasons it made such huge impact was because it was written in a style that was easy to understand for the average American.

Compare the backgrounds of Jefferson and Paine; did Paine have an advantage or disadvantage by not being born in the colonies? Explain. Paine had the advantage of being able to see the issues from the outside and from a lower point of society. To be able to understand a bigger group of people is far more of an advancement than to always target the smaller group. Which was the cause of the colonies not wanting to be under rule.
The founding fathers were smart men who the world looked up to because of their smart decisions, actions, that directed the U.S. to what it is today. But sadly in today’s society most people either have forgotten the things they did for us, or they just do not care. The founding fathers were great men who led this country to victory in war and on the political front. And often early U.S. history is portrayed as moving smoothly for the colonies turning into the a country of its own , but in reality it was just the opposite. George Washington our first president had problems figuring out ways to control the new nation as it progressed under his leadership.
