My Day with King Tut
King Tut had a very short life, but is well known by many. Born in 1341 B.C.E. , he became the twelfth king and reigned from 1332 to 1324 B.C.E. King Tut’s full name, Tutankhamen, means “the living image of Aten”. King Tut is known to be one of the greatest Egyptian pharaohs around his time period. His father, Akhenaten was a very powerful many, and when King Tut came into reign he changed things for the better. He became pharaoh at the early age of 9, but that did not stop King Tut from being a very successful ruler. The same year he came into rule he married his half sister named, Ankhesenamun. At the early age of nineteen, King Tut died. People today are not really too sure about the true caused of death. Many believe he was in a chariot accident, and others believe it was caused by gangrene in one of his legs. People also believe he may have been murdered by someone in the hunt for the throne. His father was a very powerful, but strict ruler. Tut became king at age 9 and ruled for a total of only ten years until his sudden death. He was nineteen years old when he died and was forgotten for many, many years. In 1922 his tomb was discovered and we came to really know a lot of things about this young king. People today have their theories about King Tut’s death, but we are still unsure what the real outcome was. He was seen to have a serious bone condition, which could be the reason behind his club foot. He was also seen to maybe have malaria after having an infection his leg. People truly are not sure about it, but some feel as though maybe he was just killed off by someone close to the family to try and become the new pharaoh. As the time goes on we start to learn more and more about Tut everyday, we hope to soon be able to finally find the truth about his
