The Holocaust was one of the most horrific events in the world. Krystyna Chiger and Povel Friedmann had to suffer through this during War World II. Krystyna survived this horrendous war while Poval kicked the bucket in a concentration camp. Povel and Krystyna were both Jewish and during this time the Germans were putting Jews into concentration camps. This all went down in the year 1942. They were both hiding like a shadow in Poland because they didn’t want the Germans to kill them in a concentration camp. Krystyna hid in the liquidated sewer while Povel got captured by the Nazi’s. Sadly, when Krystyna hid in the sewer, she commenced with 20 other people and only 11 people survived. Povel had 6.5 million people die in concentration camp with his dad.

When Krystyna was hiding in the sewers Krystyna’s sign of freedom was that she could hear the free people on the surface walking around.
