There are two narrators chasing after each other, but the other doesn’t like the narrator. Some of the similarities that the narrators have in common are that they are chasing after their lover. They are also both in high school. In the first short story, The bass and river and Sheila Mant, Sheila Mant is 17 years old and the narrator is 14 years old. The narrator was chasing after Sheila Mant, but she didn’t like him. He kept trying to impress her, like swimming in front of her etc., but it wasn't working. Some differences are that he likes to swim and play games and she likes to tan and look pretty.
