Actors and Processes; Comparison between Canada and Colombia Introduction The idea of globalization presumes integration and similar development for the whole world which in reality is a mirage. This is owing to very many differences among the over two hundred countries across the globe. These countries are sharply contrasting in almost all the spheres of life ranging from, their political systems, size of their economies, the demographics, social practices, cultural practices to governance structures. However, amidst these many differences there are certain common threads that cuts across all the countries in the world for instance however unique and different but each country has a political system that determines how the country is governed.

Canada and the United States have similar national identities, such as high immigration rates, sharing a British cultural heritage, and aspects of their government. The resemblance between the two countries nation building processes are strong, and only differ in the way of the mindset and mentality of each situation described. From the start, immigration had been a large factor for each country. Both countries allowed and encouraged immigration to their territory.

As I concur with your assessment of each country as it pertains to Trompenaars’ analysis indicate strong similarities between the US and Canada in every category. However, I have a few dissenting views as I see both the US and Canada having a strong propensity towards Sequential Time as opposed to Synchronous Time. Sequential Time is defined as one who puts high priority on punctuality, planning and schedules. In contrast, nations that operate by Synchronous Time exhibit a high degree of flexibility placed on plans, commitments and time (Satterlee, 2018).
The United States and Canada share many similarities and differences. Both countries were colonized by Europeans at roughly the same time, but now have citizens from not only Europe but all other parts of the world, including native people. Our governments also share many similarities and differences. The United States and Canada are countries with a shared history that both began under British rule.
