Cobras with their threatening hoods and intimidating upright postures, are some of the most iconic snakes on the planet Earth. Even though some Cobras search for new meat, Mongooses are fit to stop them from doing so. Mongooses are carnivorous mammals that are known for its ability to kill Cobras and other venomous snakes. In the book, “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi”, that is just the case. By examining “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” the setting, characters, and conflict it is clear that the book and movie are very similar to one another. One of the similarities between the movie and the book of “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” are the settings. In both the movie and book, the story takes place in a garden in Sangli, India. Not only does the story take place in the garden, it takes place in the bungalow. Throughout the short stories, every event takes place in at least one of these locations. The setting India does make a lot of sense, especially since Cobras mainly live in India, Southern China, and Southern Asia. Mongooses also live in southern Asia, Africa, and southern Europe, as well in Fiji, Puerto Rico, and some Caribbean and Hawaiian islands.
