It shows how gender relationships change, the problems people faced like sicknesses, job loses, starvation, family issues, and political problems. Throughout the story, the narrator, Fugui, shows examples of all the problems people faced during the revolution and how hard it was on families, but in his own way. Fugui is the main character in the story and he is the son of a rich landowner.

One Goal, Two Journeys-The Hobbit and Rendezvous When reading the “Hobbit” and “Rendezvous”, we can see many similarities and differences between the hero's journeys. Although they share the same goal, to regain the land to its rightful owner, they approached their conflicts and journeys differently. When comparing the two journeys an interesting quote came to mind, "In a forest of a hundred thousand trees, no two leaves are alike. And no two journeys along the same path are alike" (Davey Tree). This is similar to the two stories of “The Hobbit” and “Rendezvous”, where Thorin and Mr.Wagamese share the same goal, but, Thorin was more aggressive and worked with a team whereas Mr.Wagamese was calm and worked independently.
At the very end, Rocky, who is then known as “The Italian Stallion,” has the chance to box the greatest boxer of all time, Apollo Creed. It is Rocky’s unappreciated dedication that illustrates the true meaning of the American dream. Although he does not win, his wins the battle within himself. He lasted the entire 15 rounds against the greatest boxer and with this accomplishment, he accomplished a goal that can not be seen by outsiders, but only by those who know of his sole purpose behind joining the match in the first place. This accomplishment symbolizes transition as a character, from being the underdog to someone with much confidence and passion.
