Brutus1 and Antony had two very different speeches. [To] began, the senators of Rome murder Caesar brutally in the senate after convincing him to come (and) have "drinks like friends". The senators all take stabs at Caesar and then finally kill him [They] did not have the greatest plan after they killed him though. (Antony] **is furiated (and) wants to start a war. [Brutus) goes out first onto the podium (and) gives a speech to all of Rome. I Thel people of Rome are on Brutus' side (but) then Antony gives his speech (and) they all agree with Antons and switch to his side. [This] **is exactly what Antony wanted (and) this **was his first few steps into starting a war. [Brutus| targeted his speech more towards the logos side by using logic (and) …show more content…
[Thell use of this rhetoric will be supported (throughout the speech because loving Rome will be something all Romans want to know. (This) strengthens the speech and continues to strengthen after what he says next. [Brutus] needs to explain to the Romans that Caesar was planning on doing horrible things to the country (that would affect everyone, not just the senators. (He) starts by talking about the future (that Caesar would have put in process. [Hel uses ethos and logos by telling the Romans, " Had you rather Caesar were living and die all slaves, than that Caesar were dead, to live all free men?" (Paragraph 3) [Thel people of Rome obviously don't want to be slaves (so this gets them questioning Caesar. [This **is a great use of the rhetoric because he starts off the speech( by claiming that Caesar and him were great friends (but he had his reasons on why he killed him, [By] saying how they would all become slaves strengthens Brutus's speech greatly (and draws the attention on Brutus and maybe killing Caesar was the right idea. 'Antony's] speech is great and gets the Romans on his side and helps him in trying to create a war. [He] uses many rhetorical devices (and uses loads of emotion. [They] offered Caesar the crown multiple times but he rejected the crown each and every time. [Brutus] mentioned that Caesai **was becoming a dictator but how would he be a dictator fris supported because he just killed Caesar and looks like a traitor. (This **is a great use of thetoric because this makes Brutus look bad. (Caesar) **was presented with the great honor of a crown. (They] offered Caesar the crown multiple times but he rejected the crown each and every time. [Brutus| mentioned tha. Caesar **was becoming a dictator but how would he be a dictator if he turned down the crown. (This] **is exactly why Antony says, "You all did see that on Lupercal I thrice presented him a kingly crown, Which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition?" Paragraph 3) [Antony's] applying logos by showing how he rejected the crown and isn't becoming a dictator like Brutus said he was. [This] **is effective because it **is attacking Brutus again by showing that he was lying about Caesat, this also helps Caesar by implying that he **was not becoming a harsh dictator. [Since) Antony shows that Caesar was in fact not becoming a selfish dictator it will hurt Brutus's speech and help Antony's main goal, [This]
