The stories "No More" by Alysia Tucker and “Zero Tolerance for Abuse" by Jaime Sherrill are very similar and different. They are both interesting essays about women that get abused by their partners which may be their husband or boyfriend. It is an issue that goes on in many homes every day, but there is many of us that are lucky and do not go through that experience. In both essays, it tells us the experiences of many women that do but the essay “No More” is more effective that “Zero Tolerance for Abuse.” Alysia Tucker and Jaime Sherrill are both talk about domestic violence but yet they get the reader’s attention in different ways. In “Zero Tolerance for Abuse” the author talks about injuries that are done to a woman that is being beaten. That introduction does catch the reader’s attention but in “No More” the author starts off with a paragraph about a dog that needs a way out of a train but can’t think of how. The introduction of “No More” is more effective since it has a comparison and a more understanding situation as to how a woman feels in a relationship where there is domestic violence. …show more content…
In “Zero Tolerance for Abuse” it feel has a feeling to it that she has anger towards men. In “No More” it has a neutral feeling because of the words she uses and the way she expresses herself. Also by the author mentioning certain things like how Alysia Tucker mentions why women think it is ok that they get abused and Jaime Sherrill mentions “why men abuse their partners.” That also shows more of the idea that in “Zero Tolerance for Abuse” has an anger towards the abuser and blaming
