NAME: Eva Purvin PERIOD: 4 DATE: 11/27/17 ROMEO AND JULIET :THE LOVE CONNECTION In his play Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare uses the views of love and marriage to develop the characters of Lord Capulet, Juliet and Lady Capulet. For example, Shakespeare uses the views of love and marriage to develop the character of Lord Capulet. Particularly, in response to Paris’ claim that Juliet is ready to marry since girls younger than Juliet have married, Lord Capulet replies, “And too soon marred are those so early made” (1.2.13). Lord Capulet feels that Juliet needs to wait to marry because she is too young and needs to mature before becoming a wife and mother. Lord Capulet is a good father and is considerate of Juliet because he wants to be sure Juliet is ready before she gets married.
