I have chosen one of the key people in this book that led to the deaths of Romeo and Juliette is Friar Laurence. I am choosing to punish the Friar because in act 2 Romeo went to his church and told him they would like to get married. Even after the Friar said that this was not true love, the only reason was that she was a pretty girl and that “man's heart lives in man's eye.” He still agreed to marry them. This shows that he didn’t care if they loved each other and was more concerned about the ongoing fight between the families.
In this particular part of act two scene two of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is sitting on her balcony, thinking aloud about Romeo as he listens quietly in the bushes. Once he speaks to her, they begin to talk about the risks of what they are doing in the moment and Romeo’s love for her. In this scene, Juliet is contemplating what this love would mean between a Montague and a Capulet and wants to be able to love Romeo without having to worry about the name that defines them. Before she hears Romeo speak, she says to herself, “’Tis but thy name is my enemy. / Though art thyself, though not a Montague. /… /
The Conflicted Heart Juliet reveals that she is guilty about Tybalt’s death yet more devastated about Romeo’s banishment, evidentially taking Romeo’s side. Juliet’s husband, Romeo, kills her cousin, Tybalt. This act results in the banishment of Romeo which makes it impossible for him to come and see her. After hearing the dreadful news, Juliet begins to ponder whose side to take in this situation, her husband’s or her family’s. Midway through her dialog, she convinces herself that she should not cry because Tybalt would have killed her husband.
The portrayal of women in Romeo and Juliet is complex. On the one hand, the play presents women as passive and submissive, particularly in their relationships with men. Juliet, for example, is expected to obey her father and marry the man he has chosen for her, even though she is in love with Romeo. She tries to defy him so she can be with Romeo but it doesn’t turn out her way. Similarly, Lady Capulet is portrayed as a dutiful wife who defers to her husband's authority and does not challenge him.
Women’s Rights In Romeo and Juliet Juliet being forced into marriage, showed how little input women had during the Renaissance period. Renaissance is a period in which the ancient writing of Greece and Rome, “Rebirthed”, or came back into practice. During the Renaissance period, women had limited, to no rights. They were required to follow orders made by their husband’s or superior male figure. This is presented in the play Romeo and Juliet made by William Shakespeare.
In Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare suggests that the Prince is responsible for the lovers’ death because of his lack of control over his people, but young lovers are not responsible because love is uncontrollable. Losing family in war because of an unintelligent mistake, leaves a very big mark in life that is hard to forget. When the Prince is talking about the families’ feud and their disagreements, he said, “And I, for winking at your discords too, Have lost a brace of kinsmen” (5.3.304,305). This quote demonstrates that the Prince admits that he is causing this feud between the families. He says that he lost two family members during this feud.
I'm sure you've heard of the play Romeo and Juliet, but did you know that gender expectations created by society impacted their relationships? In the play Romeo and Juliet, written by Shakespeare, members of the Montagues gathered at a Capulet's party despite the feud they have been having for centuries. This all happened due to a messenger asking Mercutio and Romeo to read them the guest list of the party, they ended up seeing Rosaline on their who was Romeo's ex lover to whom he loved very dearly. Although Romeo did not like the idea of going, Mercutio convinces Romeo to go saying this will help him get over her since there will be much more beauty to look at. Mercutio still believed Romeo was in love with Rosaline and wanted to help him
The actions of Juliet in Act 1 led to her downfall because she decided Romeo was her only lover before actually getting to know him. In Act 1.5 lines 132-134 Juliet says to her nurse, “Go ask his name. If he is married, My grave is like to be my wedding bed.” (Act 1.5 lines 132-134). In this dialogue between Juliet and her nurse, Juliet asks her nurse to find out Romeo's name and to find out if he was married.
In William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, sexist prejudices and coercion into arranged marriages reveal the role of women in the late 1500s. In this era, men typically make objectifying remarks about women. The verbal assault of females appears mundane in men's banter. For example, when Sampson trash-talks Montague and his men, he, out of the blue, threatens to thrust “women, being the weaker vessels,” to the wall (RJ 1.1.14).

Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare wrote what he wrote for a reason, he did was he did to make the story flow and to give it dimension, get our attentions. To all those readers out there who get caught up in anything that they read will know that Shakespeare wouldn’t portray Romeo as the most important character if he indeed wasn’t. From all the actions Romeo took throughout the story he had the greatest impact of the entire outcome of the drama. Sometimes not going with your gut can be good, it lets you experience wonderful feelings, in this case Romeo let Mercutio talk him into something that would change the rest of his short life. The party, what started it all, and Romeo was skeptical about going from the start because unlike Benvolio and the others he has
The Reality of Romeo Romeo a kind, noble sir. Romeo is a character that is more realistic to today's audience. Romeo shows heroism and compassion all through the play. Today, in the 21st century, most women are fairly respected and have the freedom to make their own choices; but when reading Romeo and Juliet, from the Shakespearean age, I have learned that women were viewed very differently. Using clues provided by this book, it is clear that whether women were housewives, royalty, nurses, or children, they didn’t have equal rights to men. Men were very masculine; they ordered their wives around and expected women to obey. Whereas women were very obedient and unfortunately were often taken advantage of. In this paper, will be examining the stereotypical role of a woman in the Shakespearean age.
In my U.S. History class, my teacher has an image of The Mona Lisa because there some history behind the picture. For example, who drew The Mona Lisa? Well, it was Leonardo da Vinci. Also, this portrait is one of the most famous portrait during the Renaissance. Back then wealthy people, like kings; nobles; etc., were able to afford the portrait, but now most people can afford it.

This is a recipe for an epic suspenseful story.
