Have you ever had a friend that just became someone you used to know? The American Dream has been a great motivator for many people. In the book of “Mice and Men,”Lennie and George's dream keeps them going while at the same time, George is forced to make the biggest decision of his friendship. George is like a father like brother too Lennie. George was a friend to Lennie and a mentor for Lennie after Lennie’s Aunt Clara died. George is a friend of Lennie’s. George did not have too help Lennie, but he did it out of loneliness for a friend as a supporter for Lennie ” I love you, you were there for me, you protected me, and most of all, you loved me. We’d fight, scream, and argue, but, under it all, is a love. That only exists, in a brother, and a sister.” This quote I found was very similar to “Of Mice and Men.” George had been there for Lennie throughout tough times, arguments, etc. …show more content…

”I wanted to be a lawyer, just to defend the helpless victims of gender-based violence but this will remain a dream not lived. I had a chance, but I blew it. I had opportunities, but misused them.” The article shows that the woman had many opportunities and she couldn’t take them because she had made decisions that she could have prevented. She made too many mistakes and never took the route to fix them. Lennie was in a situation like this. He was mentally disabled so he literally was unable to learn from his mistakes. He knows what he did but he can’t learn from them and fix them because he, himself, was mentally disabled. Lennie was unable to fulfill his dreams because he could never fix his mistakes. They would get worse. Lennie would also often bring up the dreams to George because he really wanted those dreams to come true and to make sure George was still with him. This shows that Lennie and George were both true friends to each
