In the diary of Anne Frank and the Timeline, there is lots of information to be gathered. There are events that were separated on the timeline and in the play and things that were about Anne Frank in the timeline and the play. To figure these events out, there are many strategies I used to combine information about historical events and personal family. From the play, I learned many things that are both similar and different from the timeline. One thing that I learned that was similar to the timeline was about Anne’s hiding situation. To support this, the play says, “Anne. And so it seems our stay here is over. They are waiting for us now. They’ve allowed us five minutes to get our things. We can take a bag and whatever it will hold of clothing. Nothing else.” The timeline says, “August 4, 1994: The hiding place of the franks is discovered and the families are arrested.” These two pieces of evidence are similar because they both give information about when the Frank family gets discovered. …show more content…
One example is that the timeline tells us when the Anne Frank diary is published. The timeline says, “1947: Anne’s diary is published in Dutch. Over the next few years it is translated and published in France, Germany, the United States, Japan, and Great Britain.” Something that is different in the play is that we find out when Mr.Van Daan steals the bread. The play says, “Mrs.Frank. The bread! He was stealing the bread!....Mr.Frank. Mr.Van Daan, how could you! Mr.Van Daan. I was hungry.” Those are some things that we learn that are different in both the play and the
