Compare And Contrast Essay Deandre Presswood When you mention The Great Gatsby or Moby Dick there are always Two characters that come to mind. One of them is Ishmael and the other is Nick Carroway. Both of these characters have a lot similarities and dissimilarities, and even though they 're both reliable narrators there are certain things that set them apart.
The main characters in the movie The Wizard of Oz and the main characters in the novel Of Mice and Men, these characters share many of the same characteristics. Both the story and the movie show many similarities to the Great Depression. However The Wizard of Oz has very symbolic characters related to the Great Depression. In The Wizard of Oz the four main characters are Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Lion.
Both Gatsby and Lennie have very similar dreams but they both occur in altogether different settings during the same era. In Of Mice and Men the first scene takes place in a field, it was the most beautiful field Lennie had ever seen. It could be compared to Eden for its serenity. This is a peaceful setting and that is why it is where Lennie first comes before the incident of killing Curley’s wife and the last place he goes to afterwards. Lennie is shot by his friend George at the ending of the novel for the reason that if he did not do it someone else would have and it would not have been as peaceful as George made it.
