The Film, “One night the moon” by Rachel Perkins and the documentary, “Barbekueria” by Don Featherstone are very similar in the way they portray racism during the early developments of Australia. Through different Camera techniques and imagery both Featherstone and Perkins are able to project the ideals of the White Australian Policy onto a Film/Documentary. The uses of different Camera angles (by both producers) are seen in the film to represent the insignificance of one race compared to the other. “One night the moon” uses different colour patterns and camera techniques to represent innocence and superiority among the
Women we’re treated fair and properly; at least that’s what men in the postclassical era would think. Some men now might think this as well. However, in the postclassical era not all women had the right and the freedom that women nowadays have. In some regions women were forced to obey their husbands, others were highly supported from their men, and others were in charge of households or businesses. There might be different views upon women during this era but during the postclassical era it all depended on the region they lived in, the religion they worshiped, and the type of society they ran.
The Thousand and One Nights is a text built from many texts that took stories from various cultures across Asia and North Africa. It was written by several unknown authors that were scattered over many centuries and countries of the Middle East. This text began with the king’s biggest disappointment towards his promiscuous wife, consequently, he put her to death. Because of that deception, every night that would go by he would have a new wife and by the next morning she would be put to death. The vizier’s daughter stepped up and said “I would like you to marry me to King Shahrayar, so that I may either succeed in saving the people or perish and die like the rest” (pg. 562).
Life is a metaphor a memorable anecdote, the first steps in life, someone has always been there that is how we grow. Our teacher becomes our student, for the first student was our teacher. Since the beginning of time whether it be a human or an animal ever living being is a flower and a butterfly is always there to nourish the flower, just the same with the butterfly. The theme of life, the message of “Night” by Elie Weisel, “Is Survival Selfish” by Lane Wallace (page 317 of collections), and the “Terrible Things” by Eve Bunting create disguise with vivid descriptions of personal stories. Survival is necessary like our morals, we as humans should help others in need to survive, empathy can make beautiful things, so why not try, make growth happen, working together can save lives.
Compare and Contrast Essay All types of art can be powerful forms of storytelling. The graphic novel “Maus” by Art Spiegelman and the memoir “Night” by Elie Wiesel shows the horrors of the Holocaust in an artistic interpretation. While both authors used a form of art for storytelling, “Maus” visualizes the gravity of the situation with comics, while “Night” leaves it up to the reader to create their imagery. To begin with, both texts can encapsulate the Holocaust with their artistic interpretation.
Night tells Elie Wiesel’s story of his experiences during the Holocaust as a Jew. “First They Came” by Martin Niemoller tells of his experience during the Holocaust as a German citizen. Both works explore life within the Holocaust and how indifference was felt to them. However, there are differences between their positions within the Holocaust and how they ended up in concentration camps. These similarities and differences help readers see the importance of not being indifferent and the effects that indifference can have.
The Titanic, most definitely man’s greatest accomplishment, is made in Belfast, Ireland, where it is then set off into the open ocean, and set for Southampton, England. From there, on April 11, 1912, 2:00 p.m., the Titanic sets sail for New York. All seems well, and it looks for the first time, that man has built the “unsinkable ship.” However, the hopes, lives, ship and all are cut down by an iceberg and now rest at the bottom of the Atlantic. This horrendous fact was shown in both the book and the movie, “A Night to Remember,” along with many other facts and stories.
Both empires, for example, held strong rulers, such as, Akbar the Great and Shah Abbas the Great, that not only conquered vast territories but also distinctively improved their military. In contrast, women roles in the Mughal Empire were considered important and laws were created by Akbar in order to protect women rights. In the Safavid Empire, however, women were forced to cover themselves during public and were often tortured and burned under the rule of Shah Saffi
Haylee Fredregill Mrs. Kraus College Literature 1 May 2023 The Horror of 1945 “The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not hearsay, it is indifference.
In the beginning, women were treated badly. The sultan loved his wife, but once he finds out that she was unfaithful he then kills her at the break of dawn. Although, he marries a new woman each day, spends the night with her, and then kills her in the morning. His actions show us that the women were seen as deceitful, and the lives of women were meaningless shown in how many

Unfortunately this society makes women culpable of any conflict, before even hearing both the sides of the story, for example, if two entities had a sexual relationship outside of marriage, which is, of course, inadmissible and a shame, apart from being “ Haram“ in the religion of Morocco, the women is the only who is blamed, as if the man didn’t have anything to do with the incident, because he is a man, unfortunately in the Moroccan society there is much more power given to the man rather than the women, and the statement is the only excuse they can give while asked about the reason of this extreme form of sexism. However, old people who have spent their lives serving this country would claim that the women is like a diamond that we should take care of, and that it is her job and in her favor to cover up herself, not only in the physical meaning of it but also keep herself safe from anything that has the potential to bring shame to her and her
