We are in a world where people obsess with taking pictures of themselves. People go to great lengths to look good and make sure that everything looks perfect. But what if, we couldn’t take a picture wherever or whenever. Go back in time where you couldn’t fix pictures or have money to take one. A picture can say many things about a person. It was simpler before, it was in black and white and someone else had to take the picture. Looking at the two black and white pictures of the man, a person can see a part of there life 's. Like in the two photographs of Robert E.Lee and Ulysses S. Grant, they were very different leaders and they stood for different things and it shows in their pictures. Grant and Robert E. Lee. Both are in black and white. In Grant 's photo he is wearing run down faded pants that looks a size too big and wore down unbuttoned jacket. This shows what type of work he did and what kind of man he is. His unclean clothes tells others that he is proud of his imperfection and that he works hard and isn 't afraid to get dirty. He is also wearing a cowboy hat, and is leaning a arm on a pole looking somewhere past the camera. Which shows that he doesn’t care what other people think, and he is looking out over his land that he is proud of how far he his come. Also a person can tell a lot from what 's in the background of a picture, as in his is outdoors and in an campground. Giving a personal look where he may live or work. That shows a sense of community and his caring for society, like he out there to protect people around him. He wore a coat that 's buttoned with his hat in his hand and dark pants that make him look clean and ready. Which is a proper thing to do as a sign of respected and shows that he grow up the proper way. He is standing up straight with his other hand on his sword pointed down to the ground, showing off that he knows how to fight. And that he 's proud of fighting for is land and somewhat higher up then others, a leader not a follower. From the picture he was stands was grounded, standing up straight and is facing the camera and looking directly at a person. Which gives people the impression that he is some kind of upper class and noble therefore, more important. As for Lee 's background it was taken indoors. Perfectly clean and nothing around him, putting all of the focus on him and more of a traditional picture. On the one hand Lee gives people a look into his life and Lee shows he took time and made it to show off him the best. These pictures can also be for different purposes.
