CUT and The Bloomberg Legacy are interactive platforms that have been carefully constructed to provide the ultimate experience for readers, while educating them on current issues. Based on form and presentation, both websites have strengths and weaknesses. It is unfair to state that one worked better for me, because they both worked in their unique ways. However, I can compare and contrast specific forms that are stronger on one website than the other. Three prominent topics that I will focus on are ease of navigation, interactives and photographs. I found it easier to navigate through CUT than The Bloomberg Legacy. On the first page of CUT, it was clear that I had to read the text and play the video beside it. For example, to reach the timeline, CUT says: “To learn more about the company’s history and impact on Indonesia’s forests, click here.” In contrast, The Bloomberg Legacy displays various timelines that are intergraded into the website without the readers having to go to another webpage. An interactive element that only The Bloomberg Legacy has is the comments at the end of the webpage. This stands out because readers are encouraged leave opinions on the material and take part in the issue. In CUT, I noticed that the main interactive is on the second page, where readers select household objects to learn about the country they are made from. In contrast, The Bloomberg Legacy has interactives spread throughout the webpages. Examples of these interactives include, “Stop, question and frisk report” document viewer, interactive graphs such as “City’s Homeless Population Outpaces DHS Spending”, “How Well Do You Know Mike’s NYC?” quiz, “Production Assistant Grads” interactive and “Bloomberg’s Anti-Obesity Ads.” Lastly, CUT has plain images of where the country is located on the map, whereas The Bloomberg Legacy takes map interactives to another level. For example, the “Higher Rents Means More Working Hours” map allows readers to compare different locations in New York based on hours worked to pay
