After watching Martina McBride “Concrete Angel”, it was a bittersweet moment because someone took the time to talk about the issues we overlook in a society that poses a problem; instead of, songs promoting self-destruction. This video was heartfelt because situations like these do exist; I was hoping that nothing happened to Angela that someone would reach out and help her. This video made the statement how abuse and neglect are emotionally unrecognized until the scars are visibly seen, even then it still goes unnoticed. Religious organizations offer free counseling events and other activities in which families can enjoy themselves at no cost. We as people have to be proactive in our communities and within our families to educate our peers on child abuse and channeling aggression in the presence of a child. The weaknesses of these programs people are not taking advantage of them. In my opinion, neighborhoods that teach children, not to tattletale seem to be the most affected; they feel that what goes on inside their home stays behind closed doors despite the severity; thus, children that are abused sexually, physically or emotionally take it to their grave like Angela. This video is related to the text because it illustrates family problems and dysfunctional, the lack of attention the mother pays to the child and fails to provide the basic necessities of life. The child prepared her own lunch and wore the same dress to school from the day before. She mother failed to prepare the child for the greater good of society. The mother failed to prepare the children to be good of society being that her life was ended too
