Condom Availability In Middle Schools Essay

According to Debra J. Saunders, the San Francisco Unified School Districts Board is tempted to expand the condom availability from high school students to middle school students. “It is not going to be like Mardi Gras”, says Kevin Gogin. I will explain that exact phrase more into my rebuttal. My opinion, I do not agree with the expansion of condom availability. I believe that would increase the urges for sexual intercourse, but at the same time, it would stop it. There are so many issues with this idea, it is like they are encouraging the younger kids to have sexual intercourse at an early stage in their young lives.
Let me begin by telling you why I believe it would stop it first. To middle schoolers, I am sure they think they are the big deal once they get a hold of their very first condom, but do not even know how to use it or even put one on. I think that because they do know these things, they will become even more nervous to practice safe sexual intercourse. Opening up the availability of condoms will stop the urges for sexual intercourse, that is why I agree with the San Francisco Unified …show more content…

I do not think it will be the smartest move to get middle school kids on having less sexual intercourse. In my opinion, following through with this weird idea is going to lighten many light bulbs for middle schoolers. The fact of receiving condoms for free, is like free candy to babies. They are going to want to run around using up the condoms. I am most certainly that every middle school parent does not want that to happen, and parents already disagree with this idea as well. According to Saunders article, “parents have no right to opt their children out of any condom program” (Gogin). Forcing kids to receive free condoms is not something that sounds appealing to me, and it definitely is not a great idea for kids who are already having sexual intercourse for
