The Congress is the legislative branch apart from it there’s also the Executive branch and Judicial branch. The Congress is made up of two houses; the Senate and the House of Representatives together they make up Congress. The representatives are representing their people in their state and number representatives chosen are according to the population. The senate has each state sent two senators. They both try to help democratic, republicans, and the people with laws being made or decisions. The members of the Congress aren’t just there to represent the interest of the people; who voted for them in their state, but for the whole nation. The members have to think about the bill created or propositions being made; if it’s beneficial to the whole …show more content…

They have to campaign again to get reelected as a representative and a representative stated, they waste about a million dollars for their campaigning. Well, if they can gather that much money for campaigns, you think they could try to use it for something more beneficial like our veterans or at least something would help veterans. If it wasn’t for all those veterans who fought and are still fighting; we wouldn’t be enjoying our lives, right now. Eventually, some of the members get reelected, while others might get replaced because the people didn’t like their achievements. Committees are where the work of legislative is done, in the Senate there are about sixteen committees and the House of Representatives has about nineteen committees. Sometimes several special committees are formed for certain issues being discussed. Members get an application to specify your interest. An example is if you’re in the west region, you want to serve in the interior committee because of the public land issue and the national park issues.
