One of the first items that came from the Constitution was the Congressional (Legislative) Branch. The founding fathers of the United wanted to have a bicameral legislature, or two chambers, to represent the people. These two chambers came to be the House of Representatives and the Senate. Each one has different total number of members, different qualifications needed to be met to run, different leadership roles, and exercises in political power. These two may be in the same branch but can differ greatly when you compare the two together side by side. The House to represent the population of each state and the Senate to represent each state equally.[1] People can claim this is not fair since this setup will not represent the majority fully. People can claim that this does not fully represent the majority but others can argue this also protects their interest and not be bull dozed by the majority. In order to become a Representative, one must be: over 25 years old, been a US citizen for 7 years, and length of the term is 2 years. One becoming a senate must be: over 30 years old, been a US citizen for 9 years, and length of the term is 6 years. There is no limit on how many terms one can serve in either or. From looking at the qualifications, it is fascinating that Representatives have more relaxed qualifications compared to the Senate. These qualifications and the total number of members allowed could be a way to promote sociological representation, representation of group through similar race, gender, ethnicity, and religion as the group. This could allow for better representation of the majority [2]. The Senate having stricter qualifications could lead to more of an agency representation, representation where the group has the power to hire or fire the representatives [2]. They both are those types of representation however the Senate for some states represent large population and cannot
