Differences Between the House of Representatives and the Senate

The United States Congress is the legislative branch of the federal government and consists of two houses: the lower house known as the House of Representatives and the upper house known as the Senate. (Diffen, 2015) The House of Representatives and the Senate have some of similarity like their place in running the United States of America as the upper and lower level of Congress. There are also many differences of these groups of Congress. First, there is the size of the party. A total of 535 members; there are 100 in the senate and each serves 6 years and 435 in the House of Representatives where they serve 2 years. (John, 2015)
In 1929, the Reapportionment Act of 1929 set the House of Representatives at 435 with changing the district sizes due to population growth. There are difference of Roles of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The House of Representatives has a big role in the government. This is where all revenue-based legislation is initiated.
