Have you ever wondered what might be the consequences of letting your son play football? Or what will happen if he gets a concussion while playing?. There’s been different points of view relating to this topic. In American culture they honor, reward, and celebrate violence in sports. That 's the sad reality that we can change by not getting involved with violence. Football is a contact sport and those who are involved are exposing themselves to the consequences that come with that sport. I personally would not let my son play football due to the high risks of concussion, trauma, and post career brain disease. Those negative effects impact a football player on an everyday basis. Results are both long and short term consequences depending on many factors that come into play. According to activity 1 the short term causes are loss of consciousness, dizziness, sensitivity to light, ringing in the ears and loss of memory. Furthermore, the long term effects that could be permanent are memory loss, mood and behavioral changes. In one of the cases of a TED Talk there was a man who suffered the consequences of football and had memory loss. His family discovered the impact that football had with him because he couldn’t remember certain things like the location of his house. Who are the people who have not participated in contact sports. As they have experience and have been playing for a long time, they are still affected even after they have played football. Facts prove that there 's always going to be a damaging outcome by playing one of the sports whose purpose is violence and injuries towards other players in order to win. By receiving victory of a football game it 's all at the cost of the player’s health. People need to start thinking if it 's really worth it?.
