The major information system that Continent 6 Café needs to have is an enterprise system (ES) also known as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). An ERP is a business solution that integrates isolated organizational systems into one solution; it coordinates activities in an organization and achieves the increase in efficiency and offering of better services to customers. Most ERPs are semi finished products which need to be configured and customized to fit with an organization need. Continent 6 café will redesign and standardize all the business processes in all regional offices. This will make all employees in the company to follow some laid down procedures and processes. The main reason of this system is to achieve competitive advantage over the other competitors which will be achieved as everything will be taken care of e.g. control of purchasing, Supplier loyalty. iv. Customer interaction will improve Customer service and satisfaction.
v. Better inventory management system will improve productivity, reduce coffee cost, reduce overhead costs, and boost profits.
Functional Requirements of this System
(1) Database: The system will need a database for storing all the Continent 6 data and information.
(2) User Manual: A User manual is important to the users so that it can help them as they start using the system.
(3) Authentification: Only people, whose credentials (User and password) have been inputted in the system, will be able to use the system.
(4) Search And Compare: The system should be able to allow users to search and compare e.g. Employees, Suppliers
(5) Adding A Supplier/Employee: Authorized users must be able to add employees and Suppliers on the system.
(6) Deleting Of Supplier/Employee: In case they want to delete a Supplier or employee there should be a functionality to do that.
(7) Update Records: The Users of the system must be able to update records on the system when need
