END THE PATRIARCHY!!!! A phrase that I heard throughout high school from many of my friends. I just never understood what it meant. According to sociology, a patriarchal system is a social organization in which men have a disproportionate share of power. I now understand this hate towards a different system. Thankfully, America is moving forward and trying to create an equal society. In the words of Brittani Saint, “Your talents are given to you, gifts that were meant to be shown to the world around you. So, strut your stuff and go for it.” Brittani Saint's encouragement enlightens everybody’s soul. Sadly, through this struggle for equality bullying is a major opponent towards achieving this dream.

Just because you grow up and out of the school setting doesn't mean bullying will drastically stop. I learned this lesson while growing up in a private K-8 school and going to a public school. When I was in elementary school, I loved the arts and the opposite of any of my male peers. This difference of interest created a weird relationship with my friends. I tended to hang out with the girls in my class. Since the stereotype of how boy's interests relate to sexual orientation. I always was thought to be gay. I am not gay, but by creating this stereotype it created tension and nonverbal bullying. As the years, have gone on, society has changed to accept males who are interested in the arts. My parents were my rock, and God was my shield. Since everyone is different then there isn't a cookie cutter solution to every bullying problem. That is what the gov't and schools forget. There isn't a cure all. It is the job of the STUDENT to defend the weak and support each other. The school's job is to support the student's actions and create an environment that empowers every individual. This concept relates to the workplace too. A business can function with bullying, but it won't be successful and retain employees. Since every case of bullying is unique, there is one solid foundation everyone can rely on. This foundation is God and the BIBLE. Having a relationship with God brings you hope and future.
