Cookie Disaster
The smell of sugar, butter, and eggs surrounded me as I mixed ingredients into the large ruby red mixer. The sound of sugar rubbing against the metal mixing bowl filled the room. I saw the little white cloud come out of the mixer, as I poured in the flour. My grandma walked into the house, just as I started to scoop the cookie dough batter onto the baking sheets.
“Oh, those look amazing!” She exclaimed.
“Thanks!” I replied.
“Those are going to taste great!”
“I hope so, I have worked really hard on them!”
“Shout, when you finish the cookies.” She yelled while going upstairs.
“Okay!” I said, still scooping batter onto the sheets. I finished scooping the cookie batter and put the baking sheets into the oven. Then I set my mint

When they were done, I took them out of the oven, and let them cool for a couple minutes. When cooled, I put them into a large plastic bag, and gave them to my Grandma.
“Thank you, Kate, my friends will love these!” she said as she took the plastic bag.
“You’re welcome!”
After my Grandma left, I closed the front door and cleaned up my mess. As I put the last bowl away, my parents walked in.
“Kate, we checked your grades, and we are so proud of you for getting them back up!” My Mom said.
“I think you have learned an important lesson,” my Dad said.
“Yes I have. School is most important, and I should work hard to keep my grades up,” I replied.
The next day my phone started ringing. It was my Grandma.
Hey Grandma! How did the book club go?”
“It was canceled, because one of my friends couldn’t make it due to being sick.”
“I was thinking, since I don’t need to do anymore reading, maybe we could go to dinner together?”
“Sounds great!”
We went to dinner, and afterwards we ate the cookies I had made for the book club. So it didn’t turn out so bad after all. Anyway I can just make more cookies next week! (If my grades are
