The topic I will be talking about is federalism. Federalism means a federal principle or system of government. There are many types of federalism such as cooperative federalism, dual federalism, horizontal federalism, and regulated federalism. There is a big problem in this world with federalism today. But then again more things discriminate against a certain group of people and also much more rising gun violence now and maybe in the future too. Dual federalism is a government system where the national government and the states have their own areas of power and rule. Supreme Court”, it explains federalism in the recent past, the present, and in the future. In the recent past part they talked about how same sex marriage is unconstitutional. In the (recent) past, The Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA, states that marriage is defined as between a man and a woman. Because of how ridiculous this was, the Supreme Court finally stopped DOMA and permit same sex marriage in some states. In the present it talked about if they give doctors the privilege of performing abortions will create a burden on the surgical center. It came to an agreement that the health of women is advanced only if the doctor who will be performing the abortions if the doctors have admitting privileges at a hospital or a surgical center. On the other hand, federalism in the future talks about if banding weapons will become another idea. The fight is that they want the Supreme Court to rule on gun control again. They want to know if there will be certain guns that will be allowed just by the second amendment or just outside of the house period for the safety of others.
