If they were to be rated on a scale of 1-10, the book would be about a 7.5 and the movie maybe a 5.5. The movie was not as intriguing as the book. The book catches ones attention by specifying what goes on very clearly and getting straight to the point, not providing any unnecessary information. Let´s just make this short, simple, and to the point, if you watched the movie you would probably not want to read the book since it did not catch enough of ones attention to be interested. On the other hand, if you read the book first and afterwards watch the movie you probably will not appreciate the movie as much as you did the
For instance you get to know what Ponyboy looks like,on page one in the book it says “I have light brown hair almost red and greenish gray eyes.” You also get to know Cherry more. For example you get to find out her real name and hair color. On page 22 it says “my name’s Sheri, but I’m called Cherry because of my hair.” First the book has more events than the movie because in the book there was a court hearing.
In the end I found the film to be easier to understand vs the book as it was an easier and more straight forward plot line whereas in the book it seemed to jump around leading to constant flipping between stories and pages to get a better

The movie is both funny and action packed but the book is more detailed. So I enjoyed the book more. The film forgot a lot of characters and changed many scenes and it really frustrated me. Also in the book you can see more character development. Even though the film was not exactly like the book the director did a great job, and this still is one of my favorite movies.
No matter how hard directors and screenwriters try, it is impossible for any movie to be a perfect reflection of the detailed plot and intricate characters presented in a novel. I had watched the film adaption of Richard Matheson’s I Am Legend prior to reading the book, I was very aware of major differences from the get go. The to main categories that I could see differences being placed in were emotion and action. Many aspects of the book were changed to emphasize both either emotion or action for the film. Considering pieces of literature cannot be easily transferred to the screen, few of these changes were very necessary.
I believe that the movie version of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird follows the book very well. Compared to the amount of similarities, the differences are almost negligible. When reading To Kill a Mockingbird, one can be fascinated by the differences and similarities between the movie and the book in the portrayal of characters, the layout of Maycomb, and the character outcomes. For me, the characters were just as I imagined them.

In all movie adaptations, there must be some change to make it function like a movie. This is evident when discussing the play, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and its 1958 counterpart of the same name. Both are similar in terms of plot, characters, and setting. Despite this, some key plot points were changed when the movie was made that differ from the play. These points change the storyline dramatically.
