Carditis is an inflammation of the heart. 19. Atherosclerosis is a condition where the arteries are blocked with plaque and the blood flow decreases. This can cause heart attacks and strokes. 20.
Angina and Myocardial Infarction both occur due to low amounts of oxygenated blood in the tissues of the heart however in a myocardial infarction the tissue doesn’t just suffer for a short amount of time and then recovers like it would with angina, it actually dies. Mistovich & Karren (2013) state that tissue death usually occurs within the 20 to 30 minute window of oxygen starvation. Myocardial Infarction can be caused by coronary artery disease, like angina, and it too causes chest pain (Pollack, 2012). According to Daniel Limmer and Michael F. O’keefe (2008), on minimal occasions, the heart attack can be caused by an aneurysm which is when the heart’s coronary artery actually
1.Congestive Heart Failure also known as (heart failure) is a life threatening condition. Heart Failure is caused when someone has a weak heart. It usually happens when the bodies blood pump to the heart is not pumping blood to the heart correctly.
The pumping ability of the heart is compromised by a continuum between coronary artery disease, myocardial ischemia, and myocardial infarction. This paradox deprives the heart of blood-borne oxygen and nutrients. Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the earliest of the continuum and consists of any disorder that narrows or blocks the coronary arteries. Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of CAD, which diminishes the myocardial blood supply until the blood flow to the heart is limited causing the starvation of cells or ischemia. (McCance 1160).
Halloween, donating blood or suffering from a cut, you probably don't give much thought to blood on a regular basis. This fluid that flows through our bodies, though, is truly a matter of life and death. In honor of American Heart Month, let's learn a little bit more about the blood that our hearts pump through our bodies. Blood is composed of cells and plasma.
There are many diseases or problems that you get when you get older. Problems like chest pains and heart attacks. Diseases like coronary heart dieses, which is cause by a buildup of plague in your arteries. Now plague is a waxy substance that narrows your arteries that reduce your flow of oxygen-rich blood to reach your heart, and can cause blood clots in your arteries too. Luckily there are small expandable tubes that can treat narrowed or weakened arteries in your body called stents Now stents are used to open or expand arteries that have plague in it.
Myocardial Infarction which is another word for Heart-attack. When you have an heart-attack your blood is not getting to your heart's muscle. This means your arteries are clogged. Blood is pumped through your arteries to all of the parts in your body. If you have a heart condition you shouldn't smoke, you should diet and exercise, you should watch your Blood Pressure if you have to take medication for your Blood Pressure make sure you take the prescribed medication.
Phase II(sub-acute phase): When you leave the healing facility, your heart recovery project will proceed at an outpatient office. Stage two of cardiovascular restoration more often than not endures from 3-6 weeks and includes kept checking of your heart reactions to practice and movement. Another imperative part of stage two cardiovascular restoration is training about fitting activity methodology, and about how to self-screen heart rate and effort levels amid activity.
Thesis; Dilated Cardiomyopathy can be caused by genetics, drug or alcohol abuse, chemotherapy, infection, or from a heart disease. Cardiomyopathy is a serious condition where the heart is abnormal. If left untreated, it is common that you could go into heart failure. Dilated cardiomyopathy is where the heart chambers are enlarged. It makes it harder for your heart to pump blood and for that blood to get to the rest of your body.
Coronary heart disease claims number one for the cause of death among women and is known as “the silent killer.” In the United States, one in three women die from coronary heart disease, and almost two-thirds of those women die suddenly showing no symptoms at all. Heart disease also totals hundreds of billions of dollars in direct and indirect costs due to health expenditures and loss of productivity efforts. This disease occasionally connects the cardiovascular system and nervous system to alert the victim of its condition by providing physical signs to obtain immediate medical attention. Although coronary heart disease can be lethal, the diagnosis, prognosis and treatments can be handled effortlessly with little to no medications, dependent
Other societies face more psychosocial factors that promote poor lifestyle choices and are associated with the higher rates of atherosclerosis in that group. This can support the fact the high numbers of atherosclerosis in Western and urban populations experience due to the stress at work or home and depression. The high rates of mortality and morbidity by atherosclerosis have slowly minimized due to the more recent developments of medication and surgery. There are medications for moderate atherosclerosis including heparin and T-PA.
1. After taking the heart disease risk assessment, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my assessed risk was “very much below average”. I have always thought of my lifestyle as above average in terms of health, and was glad to have this assessment reaffirm that. The only two improvements suggested were to eat more fish and more vegetable oil (which surprised, because I had thought that oils were to be avoided if possible). For the diabetes risk assessment, my assessment results were the same, “very much below average”.
Cholesterol is a waxy, soft and fat-like substance in the body. High cholesterol increase the risk for cardiovaskular disease and also stroke. When there is high level of cholesterol circulating in the blood, create a plaque which is sticky deposit along the artery walls. The plaque eventually can narrow the path or block the flow of blood to the brain, heart and to the other organs. The plaque caught the blood cells and form clots, which can burst and completely block the flow of the blood through an artery wich called thrombosis, causing heart attack or
Hello class, I do not believe heart disease is part of growing older because there are a lot of old people who's heart is very healthy. I believe heart disease is caused by genetics, family history, obesity, chronic illnesses and lifestyle. If we only eat fast food, chips, sodas, candy, and fry foods how do we want for our heart to stay healthy if we don't take care of it. Steps we should take to improve our heart health can be start eating a healthy diet, exercise, and monitor our health with a doctor. People often disregard behaviors that lead to heart health because we are almost always in hurry so it's more convenient to just stop and get food from a fast food restaurant.
As we all know that the heart allows blood flow within the human body. But with having a heart comes with its diseases just like any other organ we have in our body. Heart disease is also know as CVD (cardiovascular disease)or CHD (Coronary heart disease). It is diseased vessels ,structural problems and blood clots. About 600,000 die from heart disease every year (1 in every 4 deaths) . At least 47% of people have a least 1 of the 3 major risk factors, diabetes, smoking , not active, ect...
