Caffeine is a natural stimulant. It works by stimulating the brain and central nervous system, helping you to always be on your feet and also help you to stay awake. Caffeine is one of the most commonly used ingredients in the world. Both caffeine and chocolate are two major things that have the impact of health benefits, and also disadvantages. I decided on this topic because I have always wondered about caffeine and have always wanted to know the truth behind it. I also eat a lot of chocolate and have again, heard a lot of different things about it. I thought it would be very interesting to learn new things about. “80% of the world’s population consumes a caffeinated product each day, and this number goes up to 90% for adults in North America” (Petre). Caffeine is able to block the molecule Adenosine. It is important to know that consuming more caffeine is not any better. Drinking between three and five cups of coffee every day reduces the risk of brain diseases by about 28-60% Because caffeine is able to stimulate a person’s central nervous system, it can boost metabolism by about 11% and can burn fat by about 13% Caffeine can also be helpful for exercising because it stores the glucose in our muscles for a lot longer, making it not as easy for your muscles to get tired.
