Firstly, being envious of others causes the characters to have loss of civilization. When Jack first comes into the scene, his choir, who are holding knives, escortes him. Out of all the characters, Simon demonstrates a Christ-like-figure. He finds food for the younger ones, he does not criticize Piggy and he is brave to go out in the dark alone. Piggy is the character in the book that is not respected due to his physical condition. Piggy is known as the outsider, who has glasses and is overweight compare to the others. Although, out of everyone he is the one that uses his knowledge in making solutions. He sees perspectives that enables him to see things that Ralph cannot.
