Teens, Kids and violent music in America: Could music be changed?
Music really is an important part of all our lives. Music may get you pumped up for a big day or relaxed after a stressful day. You may even shed a tear out of the emotion of a sad song that sparks good or bad memory. Music also has a dark side with violent music that could incite riots, senseless aggression and other negative feelings of emotion. Music from all genres sometimes involves graphic lyrics of shooting, stealing, intimidating their opponents, violence towards women, hate crimes towards race or someone’s sexual preference. Transitioning away from violent music, regardless of any genre would be a very real possibility. It is possible we can obtain cleaner music while keeping all of its entertaining qualities. We can transition away from such content while maintaining the spiritual, political, entertainment, fun, emotion, educational and soothing effect that music provides. Moving away from the violent content altogether can be achieved.

My proposal is to at some point we educate they need to elevate those creative talents. Teach kids from grade school to high school other avenues to express themselves with glorifying violence. Also, we need to target kids who live in high crime areas they are our highest risk. We have to set the example by punishing any artist who actively engages in crime while making music. We must push artist to strive towards better music without violence laden music. Dismissing all forms of violent music with well thought out with musical artist that serve as better role models to look up to that don’t glorify violence. Showing kids and teens we can enjoy music, have fun and still be creative and entertaining without the crime glorified in lyrics of music and images in video and at public
