In Catholic high school there was a male teacher who the client heard was, "messing around." The client wanted to teach him the error of his ways, but ended up sleeping with him several times. As a nursing student at age 21, she met a man who had a five-year-old son. This man shared her musical interest and they were married after a six-month relationship. The client reported that two months into their marriage he started a pattern of drinking, sobering up, and drinking again. After two-years, she ended the marriage. When the client was 27, she started a relationship with a fellow musician in Scientology. She became pregnant, and, as reported by the client, he "freaked out." She reports she has a good relationship with her daughter Diana. The client reports that Diana loves her, but doesn't think she and her mom have a lot in common and does not want the client to lean on her. Diana is divorced and does not have children. The client reports she does not have a great relationship with her son Scott, who is not married.

The client's mother died when she was fifty-eight years old. The client reports their relationship was, "overall good until the last years of her life."
The client's father died when she was ten years old. The client reports her relationship with her father was good and that he was her hero. However, at the same time, she reports that he molested her from infancy by inappropriately touching her genitals (no rape). The client stated that he, "always treated me like a piece of ass."

The client grew up in a home with two working, busy parents. Her mother did not nurture or find much time to spend with her children. The father was an extrovert whom the client and her siblings adored even though he sexually abused the client and physically abused the client's brother about once a week and once hit the client. The client did not play with other children and entered her own fantasy world speaking her own language and having imaginary friends.
