Studies show that 913,000 people in the United states used cocaine in 2014 and has increased to more than 1.1 million people in the United States today. What are the causes to so many people getting addicted to this drug in the United States? Some of the causes may include genetic disposition, depression, peer pressure. In this research paper I will be discussing the causes to addiction of Crack cocaine.
One of the reasons people may get addicted to Crack Cocaine is their genetic disposition. This means that if their Mother used the drug while pregnant with the baby the child might be born an addict. This may also just be in your genes that you are an addict from a relative not necessarily your mother. This is one of the worst types of addiction …show more content…

People might start using Cocaine or Crack because they lose a family member in an accident or they just simply passed. Some people might actually try this drug because they are being bullied and find it relaxing that they can escape the world. Another way might be because they fall in depression after a break up or they end a relationship with someone they loved and they might do drugs to drown their sorrow. Statistics show that 55 percent of teenagers that tried drugs are due to peer pressure. Some might do it because they might think that they will fit in more and be cool. To influence someone into drugs some of their friends might reject them until they use the drug. Some teens might think that they are cool and might bring everyone else down. Some might do it just to impress their friends and ruin their entire life. Another reason why some people get addicted to Crack Cocaine is because once they try it once their body is going to tell them that it wants more of that drug. Their body might also want more of it because it thinks it makes them feel good so they want more. Some Crack Cocaine users say that it gives them a feeling that they can't live without. Following the feeling that they can't live without they will do anything to get more of that feeling in other words they will do anything to get that drug in their
