First gang or crew was actually a mexican and african-american youth group who fought against corruption within Los Santos Police Department at this time, Los Santos Police department was scared of the group of members. The mexicans and blacks were like brothers, untill..- the mexicans joined Mara Salvatrucha banner. That devided the mexicans and the blacks, and this is how the gang started, gang named 43th Jefferson Ballas, as the members of the gang started to ask help from Crips, at the time being led by ''Tookie'', they took Crips Banner and started representing blue colors.
The gang can be traced back to apartments on Dixon road which is east of Kipling Avenue, west of Islington in the Rexdale community of North Etobicoke in western Toronto. The name of the gang comes from the Street the mostly hang around. The Origin has been said that the group has migrated here from as far as from New York in early 2001. The founder of the Dixon bloods is named "G-Shine" and is responsible for the gang appearing in Toronto. The G-Shine Bloods gang is the first bloods gang to form on the east coast of Brooklyn, New York in 1993.
The group originated in Los Angeles, but later it spread its activity into Canada, Central America, Mexico, and different areas of the United States. It lasts since the 1980s. The Bloods and the Crips were extremely territorial and quite ambitious in protecting their neighborhood against invasion by one another as well as other opponent gangs. Crip gangs started to use graffiti to mark their territory. The areas Crip gangs occupied became known as the "hood," and leaders began taking on new gang members from local neighborhoods.
The exact location is up for debate, but it is generally accepted that 18th Street Gang started near 18th Street and Union Avenue in the Rampart District of Los Angeles. 18th Street was not always its own gang. It was originally part of Clanton 14. They wanted to make a separate clique called Clanton 18th Street and allow immigrants the opportunity to join.

The current disadvantages these modern gangs are faced with can be traced back to the oppressive and segregative history of America towards people of color. In the 60’s the black community was extremely strong and had a plethora of leaders who united and led their fight against inequality. Even in the face of white flight and segregation (Schneider, Escape From L.A.) the community had thriving social programs, cultural hubs, and vocational opportunities that was beneficial to its members (Film: Crips and Bloods).
Many of the surrounding rival gangs including the Pirus formed together and later became known as the Bloods. The two gangs have been feuding over territory, drugs, money and power since the mid 1970’s. The feud between these two gangs has caused a significant amount of damage to their society which has resulted in the death of hundreds of gang members and civilians as well. Almost all of the members of the Crips are African American males who have been in and out of trouble since a very young age. The members join to have protection on the streets from other gangs and to make money.

During 1920’s the Crips were orginated in Los Angeles, California by two African American high schoolers Raymond, and Tookie. Raymond and Tookie claimed to have created the gang to protect each other from other gangs, polices, and other crimes surrounding their area. The Crips colors are blue, gray, and orange. Crips wear certain name brand clothing such as: British Knight, KSWISS, Colorado Rockies Athletic wear, and many others that will be discussed further on in the paper. Crips hands signs and Symbols are: 211 which means Blood Killers, a 6-point star, and other signs depends on which part of the hood the member is from.
They would usually get into many fights with other gangs because they disliked the people from the other gangs. These gangs didn’t really do violent things when they were first formed, but as the years passed by violence started becoming more common. They started murdering people, and doing drive-by shootings in their own communities. The age for people to join the gangs soon changed. The age was now 12
