Abstract
This article will discuss current day plagiarism among college and universities in the world of the Internet in 2017. Plagiarism is illegal and is defined as either a direct or indirect copying of another person’s creative work. College students are at risk of plagiarizing when they create a paper or research report for a class. Not using a proper citation, the copying of statements or parts of a document are common ways that plagiarism can occur. Students that are found to be guilty of plagiarism can face many different types of consequences depending on the college or university policies (Kokemuller, 2017). The main difference is that the sources of information are no longer in the community library alone. Today’s information is at a students fingertips just by logging onto the Internet. It is a multi-tool website that not only checks for plagiarism but also checks for spelling, grammar mistakes and it will proofread for different wording also.
