The design of something is crucial to getting people’s attention. Rubenstein uses bold colors and images to grab the audience’s attention. It is important that you make the font easy to read as well. The font is an easy to read style and the color stands out from the background. Rubenstein puts the words in a column down the page, so your eyes follow the pictures that are next to the text.
The tone of these two letters affects them greatly. If the letters didn 't have a serious tone or was monotone the editor would not read the letter of it 's full length. the tone in letter a is very playful at first but becomes more serious closer to the end. When I look at my other pieces of writing, the “ Persuasive Letter” is the best one I could think of. As I look at the letter I can really tell I tried my best when writing it. It showcases the author’s emotions, individuality and purpose. So when I write and when I read, I pay close attention to style. A good piece of writing and a great piece of writing could be separated by one thing- stylistic choices. In my writing I use repetition quite often, and if utilized correctly, it can have a powerful effect on the reader. It can draw the reader into the text.

In this short passage by William Zinsser, Zinsser used compare and contrast to inform the readers about his personal opinions of being a writer. Due to different understandings and opinions on how to be a good writer, Zinsser decided to use compare and contrast in order to present a clean and detailed differences to the reader about how different people’s writing style can vary. By doing this, it would be extremely helpful for the readers to distinguish the differences of each writing style, see the benefits and disadvantages, and ultimately gather enough information to decide which style fits them the best.
